Today, over coffee and a chat, I realized how much my priorities have shifted in the last couple of years - how much I have internally changed.

The conversation forced me to go back and read some of my livejournal posts, and in the process, realize how much I used to really, really care about some unnecessary things. I used to be extremely passionate, always ranting and raving...and for a good long while towards the beginning of my foray into burlesque, I was clearly depressed (and said as much in my entries) and very frustrated!

Re-reading some of my early philosophies as it relates to burlesque and performance, I could see where I was trying to go with the ideas, and how I was falling short of fully expressing myself - and how offensive some of them came off because I was trying to combine my feelings with...well, business acumen - and they actually don't really mix very well.

I said some pretty uninformed things, made some pretty harsh judgments about what other people were doing, and was, well, kind of a dick.

So...sorry about that. :)

Suffice it to say that I'm glad the struggle associated with that part of my life is over, and in spite of the stupid things I still say and do from time to time, I am trying! :)
