On a list of things that regularly make me feel happy, seeing something I worked on with my homies over at Vaudezilla is near the top of the list. I'm so glad we get to spend every Tuesday together!

We performed this act at the Windy City Burlesque Fest this year:

We're gearing up for our Halloween & November Live Band show, and the ideas are flowing like delicious wine (of which there is plenty, thanks to Trixie Sparx . There's nothing quite like taking a break from creating to really get the juices flowing again - and new blood! We've got a couple established performers who we're looking at adding to the roster who've been attending rehearsals with ideas and a new energy that's very contagious.

Also, it's nice to be at the point where we can start revising scripts instead of writing brand new ones from scratch. Creating something brand new takes such a huge toll on one's mental state. When you get to the point where you can actually revise it (which means you have to wait at least a year, in the case of holiday shows), it's really inspiring to read an old script and realize the weakness of it from an objective point of view.

Overall, I'm happy to say that things are going well. Lebowski is selling pretty good - and the show has gotten some good reviews, including this one:

Reviews are a funny thing. All of our reviews came on the same night, but all three of the reviews practically conflict with each other. One even sounded like the reviewer had never seen the movie. It's bizarre-o, but an excellent reminder that reviews are simply One Person's opinion of your work, and never something to take personally. (Unless of course, they're good, amirite?!)

Looking forward to spending the day teaching a private lesson, learning from a private lesson, and watching an opera with one of my friends. Maybe I'll get some packing done for NYC & Montreal. (Squeeee!!)
