Good morning, world!

Tonight, we'll be hanging around at the Big Lebowski viewing in Logan Square:

On Friday night, I'll be headlining the yearly burlesque show at Cyphan:

Followed by heading over to Broadzilla to celebrate our very last show:

I'm so excited to finally enter this phase of Vaudezilla - something I've been waiting for for a long, long time! It's a phase where we have an established the right kind of steady ensemble that we can develop our theatre shows. We've got the basics down, and now it's time to polish them up bright and shiny! I'm excited to add some circus & variety aspects to our upcoming shows...building an cohesive ensemble, as well as finding supporting performers (from outside of our crew) has been a challenge, and I daresay it's one of the biggest prohibitors of the growth of local scenes around the country.

I'm really excited to finally put up Big Lebowski Burlesque. Having been in the cast (as Maude) the previous two years, I already feel ready, so I'm just watching on the horizon as Opening Night ticks closer and closer. Everything about Big Lebowski this year is a little cleaner, a little more polished. The bowling showgirl act (choreographed by Po'Chop) is not only exciting to watch, but actually challenges our dancers so they can come out of the 6 week run having learned something valuable in the process. I'm really proud of those girls!

Wham Bam Pam returns as Walter and is bringing an abundance of new energy and character choices to all of her appearances in the show. You can really see her growth on stage from our first year of doing it til now! (I think she'll steal the show!)

I'm spending a lot of time on set, which gives you a lot of time to think...and I'm enjoying starting to build some ideas of how 2012 will end and what we'll be focusing on in 2013. I can't wait to unveil some of our new Vaudezilla ensemble members - it's taking everything in our strength to wait until things become official!!
