Creating this playlist was all about creating a listenable mish-mash of my favorite artists, some sentimental songs, and my burlesque acts (since they asked me to DJ because I'm "Red Hot Annie," it seems appropriate).

Right away, I knew I had to include Alicia, Macy, Alanis, Madonna, Dylan, Outkast, The Beatles, Dixie Chicks, and Smashing Pumpkins because they are some of my favorite artists. Some favorite artist who didn't make the cut include: Garth Brooks, Bjork, Britney Spears, The Cure, The Flaming Lips, Fleetwood Mac, Gorillaz, Lady Gaga, Zeppelin, Modest Mouse, Sarah McLachlan, Tom Waits, anything involving a musical. No more than one song per artist.

Some songs, like Porno Graphique, Oh Mr. Mitchell, and Richland Woman Blues are included because fans of my pinup work sent them to me over the years. ;)

Other songs like I Am The Walrus, Govinda, and Not Ready to Make Nice are included because they signify my very distinct and memorable transitions to a better life.

Doo Wop, Harlem Shuffle, Undone, Tonight, Tonight, and Icky Thump are pure nostalgia.

Songs like Young Lust & The Man in Me are notable because they're songs from two of the biggest burlesque productions I've been part of (The Wall & Big Lebowski Burlesque, respectably).

And of course, songs like I Kissed a Girl, Bang! Bang!, Vogue, I'm Shipping Up to Boston, Doo Wop, and Billie Jean are included because they are really rockin' crowd favorites!

What a fun one-time project! I thoroughly enjoyed this, but have a new appreciation of what DJ's go through!! :P
